The pigeons in the backyard are typically exceedingly annoying, especially when their numbers are great, which is usually. I try to see the good in them where possible so today I can praise a few that were actually somewhat pretty. Unlike the normal city pigeon varieties, these must have had some more interesting genealogy and had a lot of white with shades of brown. and gray.

Multicolored pigeon has lunch.

This guy was mostly brown with white tail feathers.

It was a pretty slow news day as you can tell when the big stories are about pigeons and this news about a sizeable iguana with a deformed finger! He rested on the lawn and wasn't the least bit afraid as I stood very close. Sometimes I wish they were just a little afraid of me.

This big guy just rested on the lawn.

Must be a story here.

In other news, the mom gallinule was still feeding her two babies across the canal today. The kids seem to be getting bigger but still small enough to need mom's protection.
 |
So sweet to see mom feeding baby.

The backyard drew a little flocklet of white ibis and two crows who all partook of the duck pellets. So many animals like those pellets which are actually intended for waterfowl. Go figure...
 |
The dinner crowd of ibis, crows and pigeons all got along.

The ibis flocklet rests after eating.

A great egret stopped in its usual spot across the canal to look for some dinner. I'm not sure if he got any fish, but he sure looked intently for some.

Looking for a nice fishie.

Finally, a look at our kitties latest choices for resting. Callie likes Amazon boxes almost as well as Chewy boxes. Finn prefers to be in and around Chewy boxes!
 |
Callie finds this Amazon box to be top-notch.

Finn guards his favorite Chewy box.
