Perhaps the most interesting interaction happened between Muscovies White Foot and Blackie. I have speculated before that Blackie is a little confused when it comes to her gender and the other Muscovies seemed to consider her an outcast. But lately they have begun to accept her most of the time, if not always. Everyone, that is except White Foot. Today I saw him chasing Blackie off in the water. I guess nobody told him that she is on the good list now.
Oddly, the lone remaining gallinule was fighting with one of the grebes in the canal close to the good fishing spot. He would charge at the poor unsuspecting grebe and force it to fly off. What's going on with that?
Speaking of the grebes, one of them has a pronounced mating beak with a stripe on it. I am going to guess that the male is the one with the mating beak.

When I was down on the dock trying to find some fish to feed, a few turtles came by to see what was happening and get in on the action. One was a red-eared slider with nice shell markings, and the other is another one that I can't identify. Both enjoyed some gluten-free bread crusts.

Today I saw a great blue heron flying by low over the water heading eastward...twice. Could there be two of them? I always love seeing them and I would love to see some babies.
Pretty Girl came by alone and stayed for quite a while with no other company. Then White Foot came along and they ate, sharing the seeds with no drama. She is pretty skittish these days, especially around Black Foot as he has been pecking at her wing and tail feathers.
Finally I saw some broken iguana eggs in the birdbath water today. It must be the crows that brought them as they like to wet their food in the birdbath, I'm not sure where they got the shells as there are no new holes anywhere in the backyard. They might have found them elsewhere and brought them to the birdbath for a dip.
